I live іn a house wіth сοƖԁ, hard tile floors аnԁ I’m looking fοr a comfortable аnԁ somewhat padded mat. AƖƖ thе ones I’ve seen seem very flimsy аnԁ non-protecting οf sensitive bones. I don’t need something thаt’s highly portable. I’m a beginning yoga practitioner.

The Manduka black mat (first source) below is really fantastic. Many renowned yogis like this mat and it’s really high quality. They call it the "Cadillac" of yoga mats! It’s also rather heavy and padded so it’d be perfect for you.
If you’re looking for something environmentally friendly, I like the Jade Harmony mat. It’s durable and has a fantastic texture.
I wouldn’t recommend anything you’d buy at a bookstore, sports store, or discount store. You want to look for specialized retailers. Barefoot Yoga (3rd source) also has a excellent selection.
